Title I

WHAT IS TITLE I?

Title I is the largest federal assistance program for our nation's schools. It bolsters state and local efforts to provide students living in poverty with the extra educational supports they need to achieve academically. The program serves more than 21 million children in the United States.

What do Title I programs generally offer?

Additional teachers and/or parapros, training for school staff, extra time for instruction, teaching materials for core content areas, parental involvement funds
